Owls Class visit to Charlton Lakes
Owls Class will be attending a Wildlife Discovery Programme on Tuesday 9th June 2026 from 10.00am – 12.00pm.
The visit will begin with a brief introduction and safety talk followed by investigations of the freshwater invertebrates of the lake/river and if time allows, a nature based walk around the site with a Countryside Officer.
The children will need to come to school in comfortable clothing with long sleeves and long trousers. They should also have a waterproof jacket, sun hat and a water bottle. Please ensure wellington boots are brought into school in a plastic bag in case of wet weather. As we will be returning to school for a late lunch, Mrs Mill has made arrangements to offer a hot school dinner so please ensure these are ordered in the morning. Those children with sandwiches will be able to leave these in school in the morning. After lunch the children will then change into their PE kit for the afternoon session as usual.
The children will be travelling by minibus, and we would appreciate a voluntary contribution of £3.00 towards the cost of transport. Permission and contributions can be made via the Arbor App by Friday 5th June 2026.
Photographs will be taken on the day which may be used in future publications by Test Valley Borough Council. Please complete the attached Parental Consent Form for Photography and return it to school by Friday 5th June 2026.
